GMail seems to increase the number of users currently. Thus, the need for good hints arrises. There are some small apps that make the usage of GMail a more pleasant experience on OS X. On this page, I will introduce some of them.
- GMailto
- This little app redirects mailto: links on web-sites and throughout the OS to the compose site of GMail. This means, that GMail effectively replaces an installed Mail application from the view of the operating system and the installed applications. Unfortunately, its site is neither German nor English. Thus, I cannot understand it
- GMailStatus
- This app installs itself into the menu bar (where the clock and volume indicator are placed). There, it shows a small number whenever a new mail arrives in your GMail account.
